Jackson County authorities arrested a Bryant man Saturday after receiving information of an alleged sexual assault of a 12-year-old female.
Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen, of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, said investigators discovered Stephen Frederick Ott, 50 of Bryant, was having sexual relations with the minor.
“We know it’s been going on the last year or so,” said Harnen. “We are still trying to figure it out.”
Harnen said investigators located several explicit photographs on Ott’s cell phone.
Ott has been charged with rape first degree, sodomy second degree and 32 counts of production of pornography with minors.
“The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges are expected,” said Harnen.
Harnen said the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Forces assisted the sheriff’s office during the investigation.
As of Monday morning, Ott remains in the Jackson County Jail with no bond set.
