The Hollywood Middle School girls basketball team got a win in a rematch of last year’s Jackson County Middle School Tournament Championship Game.
The Hawks rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat defending county champion Skyline 44-40 Monday night at Hollywood.
Skyline led 13-7 after one quarter and 21-17 at halftime before Hollywood moved in front 32-29 after three quarters.
MyCaiden Wilborn scored 19 points for Hollywood, which also got eight points from Kat Patton, seven from Dlayla Andrews, six from Casia Coffey and four from Alex Wright.
Kaina King scored 15 points and Audra Bellomy added 11 for Skyline.
Stevenson 27, Ider 22 — At Stevenson, the Panthers overcame a halftime deficit to win their season opener on Monday.
Stevenson trailed 6-4 after one quarter and 9-8 at halftime before taking a 21-14 lead after three quarters. Camryn Case scored 10 points for the Panthers while Kaja Walton had seven and Avery Wynne had five.
Scottsboro 25, Guntersville 21 — At Scottsboro, the Wildcats rallied in the second half to win Monday night.
Scottsboro trailed 10-9 at halftime before moving in front 17-14 entering the fourth quarter.
Morgan Perkins led the Wildcats with eight points while Bree Sexton scored four and Meredith Pendergrass, Hadassa Weddington and Anna Claire Crocker had three each.
Rosalie 31, Dutton 14 — At Rosalie, the Tigers rallied past Dutton for the win on Monday.
Dutton led 7-5 after one quarter before Rosalie moved in front 21-10 at halftime and led 29-14 after three quarters.
Hannah Bates scored 13 points for Rosalie while Jaylin Williams and Destiny Gann had seven each and Mackenzie Sullivan had four. Jasmine Johnathon and Emma Sisk scored six points each for Dutton.
Bryant 20, Bridgeport 9 — At Bryant, the Tigers fell in their season opener. Jazmyn Taylor had seven points and four rebounds for Bridgeport while Shanley Jones had two points and eight rebounds.
Stevenson 25, Woodville 22 — At Woodville, the Panthers outscored the home team 8-4 in the fourth quarter to earn the win. Stevenson led 10-4 after one quarter but Woodville was in front 12-11 at halftime and 18-17 after three quarters.
Camryn Case scored 10 points for Stevenson while Akia Summers netted eight for Stevenson.
Plainview 23, Scottsboro 12 — At Rainsville, the Wildcats were held scoreless in the third quarter as Plainview pulled away for the win on Tuesday. Scottsboro trailed 9-4, 11-6 and 19-6 at the quarter breaks.
Meredith Pendergrass and Anne Claire Crocker scored three points each for the Wildcats.
Skyline 48, Hollywood 39 — At Hollywood, the Vikings used a big first quarter to take control en route to the win over the defending middle school county champion on Monday.
Skyline built a 16-3 lead after one quarter and was in front 29-12 at halftime and 34-24 after three quarters.
Jayden Prince scored 18 points for Skyline while Bryant Kennamer added eight and Eli Sanders had seven.
Hollywood got 11 points from Bradley Wilson, 10 from Holden Clark and eight from Erik Rayburn.
Scottsboro (seventh-grade) 42, Guntersville 28 — At Scottsboro, the Wildcats opened up a double-digit lead after one quarter en route to the win on Monday. Scottsboro led 15-3, 23-8 and 34-17 at the quarter breaks.
Jake Jones had 14 points for the Wildcats and Jarret Scott had 10, Luke Latham and Trip Nelson six each and Tyler Shelton five.
Stevenson 47, Ider 22 — At Stevenson, the Panthers opened their season Monday with a convincing win.
Stevenson led 16-4, 23-12 and 42-18 after three quarters.
Jayden Eakin led the Panthers with 12 points while Jonathan Linderman had 10, E.J. Wilson nine and Hunter McCrary eight.
Flat Rock 39, Macedonia 28 — At Macedonia, Flat Rock pulled away in the second half to edge the Warriors Monday night.
Flat Rock trailed 6-3 after one quarter before moving in front 17-16 at halftime and 25-21 after three quarters.
McClain Timmons led Flat Rock with 16 points while Carson Ellison netted 10 and Tyler Grider had nine. Josh Varner scored 22 points and Jesse Cornelius added six for Macedonia.
Rosalie 50, Dutton 11 — At Rosalie, the Tigers raced out to a double-digit lead after one quarter en route to the win.
Rosalie led 20-6, 32-8 and 38-8 at the quarter breaks.
Levi Horton, Legion McCrary and Kristian Raines scored 12 points each for Rosalie while Sawyer Wilborn had six. Jace Wooden scored six points for Dutton.
Bryant 50, Bridgeport 18 — At Bryant, the Bulldogs handed the Tigers a loss in their season opener on Monday.
Brodie Kirkpatrick led Bryant with 14 points while Mikey Pass and Chris Clark had 11 each and Dallas Cummins had nine. Jamarion Farrior scored 10 points and Trevor Gilley four for Bridgeport.
Flat Rock 48, Dutton 6 — At Flat Rock, the Vikings opened up a 19-0 lead in the first quarter en route to the win on Tuesday.
Tyler Grider had 14 points for Flat Rock while Alex Benefield had nine and Max Ramirez eight.
Bryant 59, Richard Hardy (Tenn.) 40 — At Bryant, the Bulldogs opened up a 15-point lead after one quarter en route to the win on Tuesday.
Bryant led 23-8, 37-20 and 53-32 at the quarter breaks.
Brodie Kirkpatrick scored 19 points for Bryant while Chris Clark and Mikey Pass had 15 each.
