Scottsboro City Council President Patrick Stewart said on Friday he will seek a third term in office, in Place 2.
Stewart was first elected in 2012 and ran unopposed in 2016.
“It is truly an honor to represent the citizens of Scottsboro as a council member,” said Stewart. “I have thoroughly enjoyed working on their behalf, and I look forward to what we can accomplish in the near future.”
Stewart serves on the Mountain Lakes Chamber of Board of Directors. He formerly served as president of the Scottsboro Kiwanis Club and was an executive board member of the Jackson County Historical Association.
“I believe our city has amazing potential for growth,” said Stewart. “I look forward to continue working with the city council and mayor to make Scottsboro a better place to live.”
Scottsboro’s Municipal Election is set for Tuesday, Aug. 25 with a runoff set for Tuesday, Oct. 6.
