Dear Editor:

Gov. Kay Ivey has signed a proclamation declaring October as Knights of Columbus Intellectual Disabilities Awareness Month.

Congruent with this, the Knights of Columbus and the ARC of Jackson County are having their annual tootsie roll drive to generate revenue for this worthy cause. While the people of Scottsboro and surrounding communities have all been very generous in the past years, we still need your charitable support.

The Knights of Columbus will have their annual road block on Saturday, Oct. 5. Please give generously.

All money raised stays in Alabama with 80% remaining right in Jackson County. Donations are tax deductible. If you wish to write a check, please make checks out to the Knights of Columbus.

We are appealing to your sense of generosity and civic duty in support of the ARC. Your continued support and commitment to help the residents of North Alabama is sincerely appreciated.

Anyone that would like to help, please call Gordon Hodges at 256-575-9012.
