Scottsboro High School Junior Brianna McDonald was recently elected to the position of Lieutenant Governor of Division One of the Alabama Key Club.

McDonald serves 10 clubs ranging from Scottsboro, Fort Payne and Huntsville.

Key Club is a “student led service organization that focuses on serving home, school and community,” said McDonald.

McDonald was elected to the position at a Key Club rally that was held in May. McDonald was inspired to run after watching the former Lieutenant Governor, Cassidy Bryant serve.

Having been a member of the club since freshman year, McDonald wanted to take her “passion [for Key Club] to the next level.”

McDonald’s duties as Lieutenant Governor include communicating and collaborating with the clubs in the division, hosting officer training, fundraisers and service projects and planning District Convention.

Her favorite part of being Lieutenant Governor is the communication aspect. Key Club has “helped me make a lot of good friends and come out of my shell,” said McDonald.

Once McDonald has completed her term she hopes that the clubs in District One will be a more connected group and that the club officers will be able to lead their clubs in the most efficient manner possible.

McDonald encourages those wishing to get involved in Key Club to sign up at their schools and pay the yearly due to become official members.
