The holiday season has arrived and with it comes the many annual Christmas parades that are held across Jackson County. There will be parades in Flat Rock, Woodville, Bridgeport and Skyline on Dec. 7. The Flat Rock Christmas Parade, featuring the North Sand Mountain Thundering Herd Marching Band is will begin at 10 a.m. Participants should report to lineup at the club building by Flat Rock School at 9 a.m. Churches, clubs, cars, trucks and more are invited to participate. The Town of Woodville’s Christmas Parade will start at 11 a.m.

The theme is “Holly Jolly Christmas” and Karen Chambers will be the Grand Marshal. Lineup is at 10 a.m. at Woodville High School. Immediately after the parade everyone is invited to the Woodville Volunteer Fire Department for refreshments at the fire hall. For more information, call Woodville Town Hall at 256-776-2860.

The annual CUBB Christmas Parade will begin at 11:30 a.m. in downtown Bridgeport.

The Skyline Christmas Parade will be held at 1 p.m. with lineup starting at 12 p.m. at Skyline High School.

On Dec 14, there will be parades in Dutton and Scottsboro. The Dutton Christmas Parade will begin at 11 a.m. with lineup at 10 a.m. at the Dutton Baptist Church. An open house will immediately follow the parade at Dutton Town Hall. For more information, call 256-228-6392.

The Scottsboro Christmas parade will start at 5 p.m. Lineup will start at 3 p.m. at the corner of Veterans Drive and Broad Street. The theme for the parade is “Under the Mistletoe”. Every year, all the proceeds from the parade fees are donated to The Community Service League Christmas Angel Tree.

This program purchases Christmas gifts for foster children in Jackson County. The rain date for the parade is Dec. 16.
