A Hollywood man has been charged in connection with the death of his wife early Saturday morning.

Jackson County Sheriff Chuck Phillips said Jeremiah Adam Nix, 34, is charged with murder after authorities responded to a shooting incident just after midnight Saturday.

Phillips said when authorities arrived, they found Candus Bowes, 31, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

“A domestic argument apparently lead to the shooting,” said Phillips.

The incident occurred at a residence on Poplar Street in Hollywood.

Phillips said the victim was shot in the upper chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The victim has been taken to Huntsville for an autopsy,” said Phillips.

Phillips said a small caliber gun, found at the scene, was used.

Nix was placed into custody and taken to the Jackson County Jail. He remained there Monday morning on a $250,000 bond.
