A former Section police officer, who ran afoul of the law a few years ago, found himself in trouble again this week.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said Ryan Keith Evans, 35 of Section, is facing multiple drug charges after being arrested by agents of the DeKalb County Drug Task Force this week.

Welden said agents found over 20 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Evans’ possession.

Evans has been charged with trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana second degree, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

In 2012, Evans pleaded guilty to rape second degree and had to register as a sex offender. According to authorities, the victim was a 14-year-old female.

In 2010, he was arrested two separate times on drug charges, including once in what authorities considered, at the time, the largest one-pot meth lab bust.

Evans is currently out of jail on a $16,500 bond.
