A man, who escaped police custody following a traffic stop, was apprehended at his residence in Flat Rock early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, Hollywood police conducted a traffic stop Saturday evening and arrested Cody McAllister, 30 of Flat Rock. During the stop, authorities located methamphetamine and a pair of brass knuckles.

Officers said McAllister began complaining of chest pain during the arrest. He was taken to be evaluated at Highlands Medical Center, where during an X-ray examination, he escaped custody and walked away.

Authorities located McAllister at his residence in Flat Rock early Sunday morning. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of brass knuckles and several traffic violations.

McAllister is also facing additional charges on theft-related offenses. He is currently in the Jackson County Jail on a $16,500 bond.
