An annual tradition at Scottsboro High School, the night before the first day of school, turned nasty.

Students, parents and teachers were welcomed to an ugly sight Wednesday morning as the school suffered vandalism the night before.

The tradition carried on, as trees were rolled with toilet paper. However, according to Capt. Erik Dohring, of the Scottsboro Police Department, school property was spray painted and eggs were used.

Dohring said the police department is investigating the incident. However, no charges are expected to be filed.
