Alabama Youth Ballet Theatre will be performing “The Nutcracker” Dec 20-21 at Lee High School in Huntsville. This annual production of a holiday classic is a treat for the eyes and ears with beautiful sets, costumes and dancing and featuring Tchaikovsky’s famous score.
“The Nutcracker” is directed by David Herriott and Keren Gibb Hilliard. The show has a cast of over 100 local dancers from the North Alabama region including, Scottsboro native, Morgan Holder.
Holder will be dancing the lead role of the Sugar Plum Fairy during the Friday evening and Sunday matinee shows. Elizabeth Smith will dance the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy during both Saturday shows.
There will be four shows during the run, Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
The show is approximately 2 hours long with a 15-minute intermission. Parking is convenient and free.
