A potentially dangerous situation wound up with a good ending Friday morning.

Authorities located Beverly Ann Moumblow, 83 of Skyline, after she had been reported missing by family members Thursday evening.

Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen, of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, said Moumbow has Alzeheimer’s.

“She walked away from her home around 5 p.m. Thursday,” said Harnen.

Harnen said the sheriff’s office, Scottsboro-Jackson County Rescue Squad, local fire departments and state helicopter searched for Moumbow until about 2 a.m. Friday.

On Friday, around 9:30 a.m., authorities located Moumbow about a half-mile from her home,” Harnen said.

“She was taken to the hospital and checked out,” he said. “Fortunately, everything is fine.”
