The Market on The Square will be this Saturday, May 20 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is free to the public and will be held rain or shine, according to the press release from Downtown Scottsboro organization.

“Do not let the construction project scare you away,” the group wrote on their Facebook page. “Our market vendors will all be set up on the inside loop of the square. There are several Scottsboro City parking lots on the outskirts of The Square for all patrons to park.”

“The Market on The Square is fun for all ages,” stated the press release. “This event offers a variety of vendors to shop from as well as food vendors. We hope that everyone comes out and enjoys the day in Downtown Scottsboro. Most of the local businesses on the square will also be open on this day.”

The event was originally planned for April 8, but was cancelled due to a planned protest that was held on the Square on the same date, according to a past press release.

“In an abundance of caution, we felt it was in the best interest of our vendors and our community to postpone the market,” stated the release.
