The Scottsboro Senior Center recently elected its new council.
Council members are: Bill Zensen, Lottie Mitchell, Lane Bettis, Bettye Bryant, Evalene Precise and Alda Prosser. The group helps plan trips, parties and other events at the center.
The center is located at 132 Rita Williams Drive in the Jackson County Park. It is open from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The council strives to help create a welcoming and happy environment at the center. It also accepts suggestions and plans a variety of activities that offer something worthwhile for all who attend the center.
The center is also home to an exercise room that has several pieces of new equipment.
