Miss Colby Caroline Nicholson and Mr. Barrett Lowe Bradford were united in marriage on June 25, 2011 at 6:00 pm at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Alabama.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gregory Keller of Scottsboro and Mr. John Richard Nicholson II of Panama City, Florida. Parents of the groom are Dr. and Mrs. Charles Raymond Bradford III of Scottsboro.
The Reverend Timothy Hunter Murphy of Jasper, Alabama, performed the double ring ceremony. Music for the ceremony was provided by Steven Todd Miller, harpist; Susan Cooper, soloist; and Dr. David Miller, organist. The wedding was directed by Billy and Monica Byars.
Given in marriage by her brother, Dr. John Richard Nicholson III, the bride wore a formal designer gown of ivory re-embroidered hand loomed Alencon lace. The gown was fashioned with a sweetheart decolletage’ and shoulder hugging cap sleeves. The lace sleeves expanded to create a key-hole back. The Princess lines of the molded bodice cascaded to a slightly flared skirt that swept to a chapel length train. Her walking length veil of imported silk English netting was edged with a band of matching Alencon lace. She carried a classic hand tied bouquet of all white blooms. Lush hydrangeas, garden peonies, and petite roses were featured with fragrant stephanotis and fluttering sweet pea. The bouquet was completed with a collar of variegated pittosporum and tied with ivory satin ribbon with a pearl & gemstone brooch. The bride carried the groom’s grandmother’s handkerchief.
The bride was attended by her maids of honor, Caitlin Frances Nicholson, sister of the bride, and Heather Maureen Armstrong, both of Scottsboro. Bridesmaids were Elizabeth Grace Braswell of Nashville, Tennessee; Jessica Marie Dunn of Decatur, Alabama; Maylee Greer Montgomery of Birmingham, Alabama; Anne Randolph Powell of Norfolk, Virginia; Emily Rose Price of Opelika, Alabama; Kelly Christine Steed of Atlanta, Georgia; and Emily Taylor Walker of Birmingham, Alabama. Emory Collins Bradford and Smith Jennings Bradford, of Scottsboro, were the flower girls.
Dr. Charles Raymond Bradford III, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were brothers of the groom, Walter Washington Bradford of Huntsville, and Dr. Charles Raymond Bradford IV of Scottsboro; Jason Gann Amos, Trey Edward Blizzard, Albert Couch Boykin III, Garrett Baker Estes, all of Scottsboro; William Kane Jordan of Fort Payne; and Kyle Robert Weeks of Birmingham.
The scripture reader was Adriane Michelle Harden of Auburn, Alabama. Program attendants were Brooke Letetia Paris and Shelby Joan Valentine, both of Scottsboro. Maghen Olivia Gentry, of Scottsboro, was the registry attendant.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Huntsville Museum of Art. A rehearsal dinner and after rehearsal dinner party was given by the parents of the groom at the Huntsville Museum of Art. After a honeymoon to Napa Valley and San Francisco, California, the couple resides in Birmingham, Alabama.
