Both Marion County teams lost to Sale Creek on Jan. 18. The Lady Warriors fell 44-38 and the men’s team lost 87-75.

The lady’s game was close for the first quarter. Both teams scored eight points during that period.

Sale Creek pulled away in the second. They scored 14 points and held Marion County to seven.

The Lady Warriors trailed 22-15 at the half.

Marion County came back and took over the lead in the third quarter. They scored 17 points to Sale Creek’s eight and took a 32-30 lead into the final quarter.

Sale Creek took back the lead in the fourth quarter. They outscored the Lady Warriors 14-6 to secure the win.

Amy Webb led the Lady Warriors with 13 points.

Kia Price had eight points, Chloe Gregory had seven points and Sara Muir had six points. Teja Jordan and Savannah Phillips both had two points each.

The men’s team took the court next.

Marion County led after the first quarter with a 18-15 score.

But Sale Creek took over the lead and then some in the second quarter. They scored 24 points and held the Warriors to 15.

Marion County trailed 39-33 at the half.

The Warriors came back in the third. They scored 22 points and held Sale Creek to 18.

But Sale Creek secured the win in the final quarter. They scored 28 points and held the Warriors to 20 during the final period.

Kane Hale led the Warriors with 21 points.

Toney Sampson had 20 points, Nicq Ivory had 10 points, Jace Williamson had nine points, Reece Barton had eight points and Ermiyas Bowden had seven points.
