Haley Smart

Name – Haley Smart

Grade - Junior

School – Section High School

An honor student who plays two sports is this week’s outstanding youth.  Haley Smart is a junior at Section High School.

Haley plays basketball and softball for her school.  She was recently named to the 2018-2019 Jackson County Basketball Coaches Association All-Jackson County Basketball Team. She has also been on the All-Area Tournament Team for basketball.

This high school junior maintains an A and B average.  She has been a member of the homecoming court.  Haley also participates in Relay for Life and the Upward Bound Program.

History is this student’s favorite school subject.

“I love to learn about our culture and nation,” adds Haley.

Haley plans to attend Northeast Alabama Community College before transferring to Jacksonville State University.  She will study either education to become a teacher or social work.

She has not made that decision yet.

When school gets out for the summer, Haley gets busy with her summer job.  She cleans boats at Goose Pond and has done this for a couple of years.

Haley is good with people and shows good sportsmanship in her athletics.  She enjoys spending time with her friends and family.   “I love having good times with everyone and love to make people laugh and happy,” says Haley.

Haley also likes to play outside with her animals.  These include a dog named Doodles and a cat named Tigger.

The daughter of Chris and Angie Smart, Haley has an older sister, Bailey. Her grandparents are Paulette and Howard Smart.
