A Scottsboro man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for attacking his brother with a machete.

At approximately 4:19 pm on Wednesday, officers with the Scottsboro Police Department were dispatched to the 700 block of Perry Street in reference to a fight-in-progress call between two brothers.

Officers, detectives, and medical personnel responded to find Bryan Hodges, 55, of Scottsboro with large lacerations to his head. Bryan Hodges and his brother, Vaughn Hodges, 44, of Scottsboro were involved in a physical altercation that resulted in Bryan receiving several hits to the head with a machete.

Bryan Hodges was transported to Highlands Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Vaughn Hodges was arrested and charged with second degree assault. He was later transferred to the Jackson County Jail and has been released on $2,500 bond.
