Council discusses Goose Pond Entertainment District, Solid Waste Director job description

Posted: Friday, January 11, 2019 3:38 pm

Goose Pond General Manager Lyle Sosebee spoke at the Scottsboro City Council work session Monday night in hopes of getting a city ordinance passed that would allow an entertainment district at Goose Pond Colony.

Sosebee said he had been researching different entertainment districts around the state of Alabama over the last several years. He said that Goose Pond is set up perfectly for an entertainment district. If passed, the entertainment district would be located from the Civic Center to the Amphitheater. The area around the Bait and Tackle Shop and the Docks Restaurant would be the heart of the entertainment district. Sosebee thinks Goose Pond will see many changes over the next several years, and it will take a long time to develop what they want to develop in the area.
