Life Resource Services trying to purchase home it rents

Posted: Friday, January 11, 2019 3:39 pm | Updated: 4:38 pm, Fri Jan 11, 2019.

Life Resource Services of Jackson County is in the process of buying the building it has leased since Sep. 1, 2017. Located at 304 South Andrews Street in Scottsboro, Life Resource Services (LRS) opens its doors to a number of homeless people in Jackson County everyday.

Director of LRS of Jackson County Josh Sherlin says they can save money and better serve the homeless if they purchase the building. LRS pays a monthly rental fee of $500, and they do all of the maintenance and upkeep of the building. The owner is responsible for the roof, and any problems with the roof, Sherlin said.
