The town of Section will host its 45th annual Labor Day in the Park and the celebration of the Bicentennial of Alabama next Monday.

The day will start with an opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. with the raising of the flag, the national anthem by Addy Kate Mayo and entertainment by Carleigh.

The schedule for the main stage will include Toddler Walk signups at 10:30 a.m., Toddler Walk at 11 a.m., Lala Rice at 11:45 a.m., The Doctor – Magician at 12 p.m., Caleb and Caitlin Hilley at 1 p.m., Erica Cookston at 2 p.m., Terry Padgett as Elvis at 3 p.m., The Locals at 4 p.m., Leah Seawright at 5 p.m., Whistle Stops/Street Dance at 6 p.m. and fireworks at 8 p.m.

Activities will include a 5K/Fun Run at 8 a.m., car show signups at 9 a.m., car show from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., and a kids’ area from 1-5 p.m., including bouncy houses, obstacle course, face painting, hair color/braiding, rock wall and pony rides.

There will also be a horseshoe tournament at 11 a.m., cornhole tournament at 2 p.m. and bingo at 2 p.m.

There will be food and drinks, including BBQ, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade ice cream and much more.
