A Bryant man remains in jail a week after being arrested and charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old female.
Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen, of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, said on Friday that Stephen Frederick Ott, 50 of Bryant, remains in jail on a $700,000 bond.
Harnen said Ott was arrested after investigators located several explicit photographs on his cell phone after receiving information.
Ott has been charged with rape first degree, sodomy second degree and 32 counts of production of pornography with minors.
Harnen said more charges could be forthcoming.
“We are still investigating his phones and computers,” said Harnen.
Harnen said the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Forces assisted the sheriff’s office during the investigation.
