County and DHR at odds over lease agreement

Posted: Thursday, December 13, 2018 8:51 am

Jackson County Department of Human Resources (DHR) and the Jackson County Commission remain at odds over lease agreement negotiations. At the Dec. 10 work session, Jackson County DHR Director Kristie Crabtree spoke to the commissioners and told them that DHR has no desire to relocate.

She said that the building DHR is currently in, and has been since 1993, is set up to best meet the needs of the community they serve. There are visitation rooms, an outside play area for children, and the building is secure for the safety of everyone inside. DHR paid for the building and it maintains the building. DHR provides many necessary services to the citizens of Jackson County, and they infused $14 million into the county last fiscal year.
