The Scottsboro Tree Commission will hold a dedication of a Liberty Tree, at Bynum Walking Track, on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m.

The walking track is located across from Scottsboro Junior High School and near Veterans Park.

The Liberty being dedicated is a descendent of the Liberty Tree in Annapolis, Maryland. Liberty Trees played an important part in colonial times as places to gather and discuss important events.

This may be the first Liberty Tree planted in Alabama and was donated to the city of Scottsboro by Dr. Scott Reynolds.
