The Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center will hold its annual Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 8, from 2-5 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come see the decorations provided by the Scottsboro Garden Club and enjoy refreshments provided by the Museum Board and entertainment provided by local talent.
“The annual Christmas Open House is a wonderful opportunity to visit with friends while enjoying good food and wonderful entertainment in a beautiful setting,” said Joyce Kennamer, president of the Museum Board. “We encourage Heritage Center patrons and other members of the community to stop by and share this special time with us.”
This year’s theme is “A Bicentennial Christmas Celebration.” The members of the Scottsboro Garden Club generously share their decorating skills each year by transforming the Heritage Center into a beautiful holiday venue.
Those attending will find many wonderful ideas for decorating and will experience a truly warm welcome to kick off the holiday season. Entertainment for the open house will be provided by The Community Band and the Youth Community Choir.
The open house is free to the public and is a way for the Heritage Center and Museum Board members to express their appreciation to the community for their generous support.
The Scottsboro-Jackson Heritage Center is located at 208 South Houston Street in Scottsboro.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, from 1:30-3 p.m., the Heritage Center will host “Santa at the Center” for children in the community. Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and have a free picture made.
Parents and grandparents accompanying children will also have an opportunity to view the decorations. Refreshments will be served. This is a free event, too.
