A 12-year-old Jackson County child died Saturday following a four-wheeler accident.

Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen, of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, said the child was found by family and friends in the woods off County Road 4 near Hollytree.

Harnen said medical crews attempted CPR, however the boy, whose name is not being released, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

“It appears the four-wheeler rolled over,” said Harnen. “It’s just a terrible accident.”
