Brenda Hillis and Linda Saint are the founders of the service group ‘2 Sisters Rock’. The group was started in July 2017 after the two were inspired by another rock tribute garden.

The group’s slogan is “spreading kindness one rock at a time.”

2 Sisters Rock has a tribute rock garden in front of 50 Taters that features the names of the Scottsboro Fire Fighters and honors those who have served their community and their country.

2 Sisters Rock raises money by selling candy bars and accepting donations from local groups and restaurants. They use those funds to provide breakfast, dinner, drinks and snacks to local fire, police and sheriff departments as well first responders and military veterans.

“We’re just trying to let them know that they’re [police officers, firefighters, first responders and military veterans] appreciated,” said Saint.

So far the group has served about 50 firefighters, 67 police officers and 81 employees at the sheriff’s department in Scottsboro as well as a multitude of smaller stations across the North Alabama Area.

“The gratitude they show really warms the heart,” said Hillis.
