A Rainsville woman is in jail following a traffic stop Thursday night.
According to Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen, of the Jackson County Sheriff’s office, deputy Randy Arnold, who was off duty, observed a vehicle driving in an erratic manner on Highway 40 toward Scottsboro.
“Deputy Arnold contacted the sheriff’s office, and deputy Andrew Cowart along with a Scottsboro police officer, conducted a traffic stop on Highway 71 near County Park Road,” said Harnen.
Harnen said the driver, identified as Denise Michelle Boman, 45 of Rainsville, was arrested for DUI.
“During the search of the vehicle, deputies located approximately 30 grams of methamphetamine ICE and drug paraphernalia,” said Harnen. “Boman was transferred to the Jackson County Jail where additional drug paraphernalia was located.”
Boman was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband.
She remains in jail on a $32,300 bond.
