Rodney Dwight Gilliam, 65 of Fackler, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
He was born on Aug. 4, 1953. He was an active member of Crow Mountain Volunteer Fire Department. He had many talents which included making beautiful wood furniture, doing small engine repair, gardening and raising goats.
For years, he helped anyone he could with anything they needed in the Crow Mountain community.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at 2 p.m., at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bohannon officiating. Interment will follow at Austell Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 6, 2019, from 5-9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Gilliam is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Ann Gilliam; sons, Gregory Dwight Gilliam (Shelby) and John Patrick Gilliam (Wendy); daughter, Marianne Denise Wright (Kevin); grandsons, Allen Gilliam and Kyle Gilliam; granddaughters, Emily Gilliam, Evelyn Wright and Abigail Wright; brother, James Clifford Gilliam; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Billy Fred Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Horace Gilliam; mother, Essie Marylou Gilliam and brother, Lawrence Gilliam.
