Ralph Holloway, 87 of Scottsboro, passed away on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019.
Ralph was of the Baptist faith. He was a Korean War veteran, member of the American Legion Post 30 and a member of NASCAR for builder of engines that powered the candy apple red car 39 on tracks throughout the south on the Grand National Racing Circuit.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at 3 p.m., at Scottsboro Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Shelton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mr. Holloway is survived by his wife, Shirley Brandon Holloway; children, Elizabeth Holloway Couch, James Ralph Holloway and Phillis Holloway Thorton; grandchildren, Jacob Michael Couch, Luke Brandon Couch and Taylor Thorton; great-grandchild, Ella Rae Couch; sisters, Louise Thomas and Lela Mae Holloway; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Bill Hammonds.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Clark and Lou (Hicks) Holloway; brothers, Charles Ray Holloway, Lowell Holloway and Cecil Holloway and sisters, Mildred Holloway, Mabel Potter, Gladys Brown and Ruby Gilliam.
