Van Bellomy, 80 of Section, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at his home.
The son of the late Sam and Lena Bellomy, he was a lifelong resident of Jackson County.
Mr. Bellomy was construction superintendent for over 30 years and served as an inspector on numerous construction jobs during his career.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to his garden and growing the best tomatoes.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Harper Bellomy; daughter and son-in-law, Holly Bellomy Blanton and David Michael Blanton of New Market; brother-in-law, Milo Alton Harper of Section; brother, Hugh Bellomy of Scottsboro and sisters, Una Manning of Prospect, Tennessee and Wilda Smith of Ashland City, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and also his brothers, Alva Bellomy and Herbert Bellomy and sisters, Ruth Latham, Virginia White, Pearl Sanders and Opal Procter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at 2 p.m., at Section Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Fossett officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
