Fannie Ann Webb Dutton, 67 of Scottsboro, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. She passed after a complication with a surgery at Huntsville Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019, at 1 p.m., at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Webb officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 12 p.m. until time of service.
Ann Dutton was born on June 20, 1952 in Larkinsville. She graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1970 and from Jacksonville State College with a master’s degree in Education.
She taught in the Scottsboro City School System for 36 years at both Brownwood Elementary and Scottsboro Junior High School, where she retired in May 2012.
She loved teaching as both a P.E. teacher and math teacher. She volunteered for 14 years working with the Scottsboro Swim Team as a referee and avid supporter for both of her children. She was also an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa teachers’ sorority.
Ann is survived by her husband, Charles Dutton; two sons, Cody and Zane (Christi) Dutton; her sister, Carolyn Guyse; brothers, Larry (Annette), Bill (Wanda), Winfred (Pat) and Randy (Regina) Webb and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Clark and parents, Thomas and Nola Webb.
