Dear Editor:

It is always a humbling privilege to be a part of Christmas Charities. I would like to thank the big-hearted citizens of our county who helped make 2018 a very successful year. With your help, we were able to take care of over 700 families in Jackson County.

We are fortunate to have several volunteers in Bridgeport, Dutton, Flat rock, Pisgah, Scottsboro, Section, Stevenson and Woodville.

We would like to thank them for their numerous volunteer hours working phones, registering families, helping with food drives, shopping, wrapping presents and delivering to homes.

We are especially grateful to the many churches throughout the county who overall adopted over 160 families. Church members, industry employees and other organizations in our county came together in a big way. We are so grateful for those efforts and donations.

As a committee, we are always a bit startled at the number of elderly and children in need countywide each year. Because of your help, we were able to adopt all of our families in record time this year.

It is such a wonderful feeling when this great county can come together as one and help our fellow neighbors. Thank you all for your kindness and thoughtfulness, and may God Bless you.
