Dear Editor:

I plead with the employers in Jackson County to do something that our Politicians in Washington, D.C. and Montgomery, Alabama will not. Election Day should be a holiday. At the very least, employees should be encouraged to vote and released from work for time sufficient to be able to make it to their respective voting place and place their vote timely on election days.

I urge the citizens who answer to a time clock and those who have to work from sun-up to sun-down to know that your vote DOES MATTER. If you will study the candidates, study the jobs and go vote for the candidates most likely to solve those problems, the small investment of time that you make in placing your vote will make our world a much better place!
