While carrying her fifth child, Breanna Ballin, had been feeling sick for a week when family members got her to go to the hospital.

Her life and the lives of her family, including her children, changed immediately.

Breanna gave birth to a baby boy, by C-section, during emergency surgery. The newborn child was born a month early. Family members said Wednesday that the child would have to have open-heart surgery in the next couple of months.

His mom has yet to hold him, comfort him and just be there. Instead, Breanna is fighting for her life at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

She is experiencing multi-organ failure, to put it in simple terms. As she fights, five children face the fear of losing their mother, the one who takes care of them.

In our community, we rally around those in need and those who need help. This family needs our help.

A Go Fund Me account has been set up for Breanna and her family. It can be found at www.gofundme.com/we-support-bre. Donations can also be made at First Southern State Bank in Scottsboro and Stevenson.

Imagine if it was your daughter and grandchildren.
