The Jackson County Baseball Tournament champion will be crowned today.

The tournament will be played in its entirety Saturday at North Jackson’s field at Stevenson Park.

The tournament was originally scheduled for last weekend at Woodville but was rained out. The site change for the tournament was necessitated by playing conditions.

North Jackson is the defending county champion and has won three of the last four titles. The Chiefs have won seven championship, the most county titles since 2002, while Pisgah has won six and Section has won four during that span. Every team has played in the finals at least once since 2006.

The 2019 county championship game is set for 4 p.m.

The tournament opens with North Jackson facing North Sand Mountain championship at 10 a.m., with the winner advancing to play Woodville in the semifinals at 2 p.m. At noon, Section plays Pisgah for the other spot in the finals.
