The Scottsboro varsity girls and boys golf teams swept Madison County Monday in nine-hole matches at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail's Hampton Cove course in Huntsville.

The Scottsboro girls posted a team score of 167, 11 shots better than Madison County.

Lillie Evens led the Wildcats with a 53, followed by Kassidy Cunningham’s 56, Maddy Childress’ 58 and Braylee Childress’ 62. Playing as an individual, Abby Hambrick shot a 55.

Meanwhile, the SHS boys defeated Madison County thanks to four solid rounds for each of its golfers.

Matt Croft and Kyle Price both shot a 43 for the Wildcats while Brady Roberson and Andrew Holman both shot a 44.

“We are slowly making some progress...time to press not much of the season is remaining,” SHS boys coach Paul Kennamer said.
