The Scottsboro varsity boys golf team is in fourth-place after Round 1 of the 2018 AHSAA Class 5A State Golf Tournament.

Scottsboro posted a team score of 329 on Monday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail’s Fighting Joe Course in Muscle Shoals.

St. Paul’s was the Round 1 leader with a 299, followed by Russellville at 308 and Briarwood Christian at 318.

Matt Croft led the Wildcats with a 8-over par 80 and was tied for 12th in the 24-player individual standings. Also for Scottsboro, Kyle Price shot an 81 while John Austin Dolberry had an 82, Andrew Holman an 86 and Davis Bostrom a 106.

On Tuesday, Bostrom tees off at 7:09 a.m. while Holman tees off at 7:18 a.m., Dolberry at 7:36 a.m., Price at 7:45 a.m. and Croft at 7:54 a.m.

Brooks’ Justin Olive, who is playing as an individual qualifier, and Russellville’s Eric Boutwell both shot a 4-under par 68 to lead the individual standings.
