The North Jackson girls basketball team continued its winning ways Thursday night.
The Chiefs posted their sixth consecutive win and their 10th in their last 11 games with a 63-46 triumph over Lindsay Lane in Athens Thursday night.
North Jackson (11-5) led 15-9 after one quarter and 25-22 at halftime before stretching its advantage to 43-26 after three quarters.
Summer Varnum led the Chiefs with 13 points while Sarah Morgan and Delana Pierce netted 11 each, Alexis Moore had 10, Hadley Burnette had eight and Paige Dunn had five.
Jamison Putman scored 18 points and Lindsey Murr added 14 for Lindsay Lane (6-10).
Lindsay Lane 82, North Jackson 77 — At Athens, the state’s all-time leading scorer Tommy Murr and teammate Charlie Morrison combined for 75 points to lead Class 1A No. 10-ranked Lindsay Lane past the Chiefs Thursday night.
North Jackson (11-5) trailed 13-8, 30-27 and 50-47 at the quarter breaks.
Tyrus Jackson led four North Jackson players in double figures with 21 points. Zeke Ballard scored 16 points, Brady Cunningham netted 14 and Eli Gill added 13.
Murr, who was 18-for-18 from the foul line, scored 45 points for Lindsay Lane (12-5) while Morrison hit eight 3-pointers and closed with 30 points.
