Pisgah and Skyline cross country runners got their first look at the course they hope to run in November.

The teams took part in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational at the Oakville Indian Mounds Park and Museum, the site of the 2019 AHSAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 9. 

The Pisgah girls posted a 18th-place team finish in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational’s Small School Girls 5K race with a team score of 384. 

Westminster-Oak Mountain won the race with a low score of 58 points. Twenty-five teams factored in the team standings while the race featured 243 runners. 

Rhylee Bell paced Pisgah in the Small School Girls 5K race with a 60th-place finish (24:10.45). Kaylynn Morgan was 85th (25:06.60) for the Eagles while Serenity Olinger was 87th (25:12.47), Riley Grider 97th (25:43.47), Briley Hembree 118th (26:20.84), Kaylea Griffis 134th (26:54.43), Ally Darwin 135th (26:54.70), Korin Brock 175th (28:22.48), Sarah Grace Gamble 180th (28:50.15) and Lauren Albritton 186th (29:01.47), 

Skyline did not have the required five runners to factor in the Small School girls division team standings. Joslyn Boatwright led the Vikings with a 195th-place finish (29:30.84) while Katie Roach was 199th (29:36.81), Gracie Putman 224th (32:17.02) and Kayla Skipper 242nd (41:34.95).

Pisgah also had four runners compete in the Chickasaw Trails Invitational’s Girls 5K B-Team race. Jazimine Wilson finished 177th (28:22.48) for the Eagles while Kimberly Miller was 202nd (29:23.65), Gracie Mckee 257th (32:37.32) and Amanda Davidson 272nd (33:39.60).

Meanwhile, Pisgah finished 19th in the Small School Boys in the team standings with a score of 531 while Skyline was 30th with 735 points. Cold Springs took the championship with a winning low score of 110.

Thirty-seven teams placed in the team standings and the race included 322 runners.

Tanner Baine led the Pisgah effort in the Small School Boys 5K race with a 62nd-place finish (19:29.52). Tristan Little finished 79th (20:07.14) while Zach Cornelison was 102nd (20:44.88), Trey Barrentine 153rd (21:56.88), Bob Johnson 195th (23:03.24), Austin Wilson 206th (23:27.97), Bryant Overdear 223rd (24:13.79), Jake Smith 232nd (24:32.81) and Bailey Johnson 304th (30:38.96).

Kordell Talley as Skyline’s top finisher, placing 109th (21:00.82). J.T. Hastings finished 159th (22:03.61) while Trever Saint was 179th (22:40.04), Nathan Olinger 183rd (22:46.45), Bryant Kennamer 200th (23:14.75), Tristan Roach 254th (25:39.11), Karson Treece 272nd (26:28.69) and Scott York 275th (26:38.57).
