The Scottsboro varsity boys basketball team’s winning streak has now reached double digits.

Scottsboro (17-3) posted its 10th straight win thanks to a 74-50 victory over host Brewer Tuesday night in Florette.

The Wildcats built a 22-9 lead after one quarter and was in front 39-16 at halftime and 55-34 after three quarters.

Tyson Sexton scored a game-high 14 points for Scottsboro while Parker Bell and Jamison Gray had 10, Seth Whitmire had nine, Ethan Roberts had eight and Kyle Wright and Karstan Wininger had five each.

Russell  Mahan scored 13 points for Brewer (2-13).

Section 80, Whitesburg Christian 46 — At Huntsville, the Class 2A No. 6-ranked Lions snapped a four-game losing skid with a dominant win over fellow 2A team Whitesburg Christian Tuesday night.

Section (14-7) led 21-10, 40-21 and 60-36 at the quarter breaks.

Jacob Cooper scored 32 points and Logan Patterson netted 23 for the Lions, who also got seven each from Kaden Bradford and Alex Guinn. 

Isaiah Matthews led Whitesburg Christian (5-14) with 21 points.

NSM 80, St. John Paul II — At Higdon, North Sand Mountain snapped its four-game losing streak with a win over the visiting Falcons Tuesday night.

NSM (9-5) led 16-15 after one quarter before stretching its lead to 41-30 at halftime and 59-47 after three quarters.

NSM got double-doubles from Chandler Sullivan (27 points and 17 rebounds) and Drue Carlton (13 points and 10 rebounds) while Derek Bearden (13 points and nine assists) just missed a double-double. The Bison also got 18 points from Kaleb Helton.

Julius Winston scored 14 points and Thomas Howard added 12 for St. John Paul II (6-10).

Fort Payne 75, North Jackson 73 — At Stevenson, the Chiefs lost a nail-biter to visiting Fort Payne Tuesday night.

North Jackson (8-5) led 21-18 after one quarter before trailing 39-35 at halftime and 58-54 after three quarters. North Jackson missed two shots to take the lead with 10 seconds remaining and missed a shot to tie as time expired.

Preston Miller scored 18 points and Malachi Potter hit five 3-pointers and closed with 16 points for the Chiefs, who also got 13 from Zeke Ballard, 11 from Brady Cunningham, seven from Cadelle McDonald and four each from Gannon Jernigan and DeVontay Pickett.

Malik Turner scored 24 points for Fort Payne (10-8), which also got 14 from Alan Harcrow and 12 each from Eli Kirby and Shaq Hawkins.

Susan Moore 64, Skyline 53 — At Susan Moore, the home team outscored Class 1A No. 6-ranked Skyline 24-13 in the fourth quarter to earn a split of the team’s season series Tuesday night.

Skyline (12-5) trailed 16-12 after one quarter and led 29-28 at halftime before the game was tied 40-all entering the fourth quarter.

Weston Avans finished with 17 points for Skyline while Logan Evans netted 14 and Bryant Kennamer added 10.

Logan Blackwell scored 15 of his game-high 23 points in the fourth quarter for Susan Moore (5-8), which also got 15 from Cameron Gilliland and 13 from Derek Doty.
