The Class 1A No. 2-ranked Skyline girls basketball team’s winning streak is now at eight.
The Vikings raced out to big first-quarter lead on the way to a 73-27 win over Oakwood Adventist Thursday night in Huntsville.
The Vikings enjoyed leads of 28-6, 55-14 and 66-22 at the quarter breaks as they remained undefeated against opponents from the state of Alabama.
Gracie Stucky scored 24 points and Bailee Usrey totaled 16 points and seven steals for the Vikings while Morgan Sanders and Kenzi Manning (seven rebounds) netted seven points each.
Brinlee Potts scored six points and Aidan Bellomy had five while Alli McAllister had four points and five rebounds.
Skyline 66, Oakwood Adventist 33 — At Huntsville, the Class 1A No. 2-ranked Vikings posted their 20th win of the season with a victory over Oakwood Thursday night.
Skyline (20-3) led 14-13 after one quarter and 31-22 at halftime before taking control in the third quarter. The Vikings outscored the Mustangs 26-7 in the frame to carry a 57-29 lead into the fourth quarter.
It was the sixth straight victory for Skyline, who is undefeated against Class 1A opponents this season.
Jaylon Clements and Collin Lockard both scored 16 points and Jaxen White added 10 for Skyline while Dylan Bickers and Connor Lockard pitched in nine each.
