The Pisgah volleyball team continued its winning ways against an out-of-state opponent.
The Eagles swept Dade County (Georgia) in a best-of-five match Monday at Pisgah High School.
Pisgah (5-2) won the opening game 25-17 before posting wins of 26-24 and 25-19 to complete the sweep.
Chloe Womack recorded 10 kills for the Eagles while Molly Heard had seven kills and 13 service points. Ella Bobo totaled 17 assists and Shalyn Smith had nine service points while freshman Ashley Shrader had nine kills and three blocks in her varsity debut.
Arab 3, Scottsboro 0 — At Arab, the Wildcats were swept by the No. 7-ranked Knights in a Class 5A Area 15 match on Tuesday.
Scottsboro hosts North Jackson and Ider in a tri-match today starting at 4 p.m.
Fyffe 3, Pisgah 0 — At Fyffe, the Eagles suffered their first loss after falling 27-25, 30-28 and 25-22 to the Red Devils.
Molly Heard recorded 16 kills and six blocks for Pisgah while Bella Bobo had 11 assists and nine service points. Shayln Smith had 13 service points and Hannah Duncan had eight.
NSM goes 1-3 in Geraldine tournament — At Geraldine on Saturday, North Sand Mountain posted a 1-3 record during the Geraldine Invitational.
NSM opened the tournament with a 2-25-, 7-25 loss to Class 3A No. 4-ranked Geraldine before falling 10-25, 25-18, 8-15 to Gaylesville and 11-25, 13-25 to Fyffe.
NSM closed the tournament by avenging an earlier loss to Gaylesville, sweeping the best-of-three match 25-23, 25-20.
For the tournament, Jasmine Higdon recorded 13 kills, four aces, and two solo blocks while Macy Smith had three kills, three aces and 22 digs. Briley Bynum had one kill and five aces and Shelby Preston had two aces and one kill while Harley Boyd had one kill and three aces. NSM also got two kills each from Triston Barrett and Jaycee Weldon and one kill each from Jayde Case and Emily Barnes.
