The Scottsboro varsity girls basketball team will travel in the sub-regional round.

Top-seeded Brewer outscored the second-seeded Wildcats 14-4 in the fourth quarter to secure the Class 5A Area 15 Tournament championship.

Scottsboro (13-15) trailed 11-8, 18-14 and 32-26 at the quarter breaks before the Patriots sealed the win in the final quarter.

Carley Bell closed with 16 points for the Wildcats while Lexie Bennett added five and Olivia Tubbs had four.

Hope West scored 15 points for Brewer (19-11), which also got nine points each from Evaiah Burrows and eight from Leisha Steger.

Scottsboro will play at Area 13 champion Boaz on Monday at 7 p.m. in a Class 5A Northeast Sub-regional game while Brewer hosts Douglas. Sub-regional winners advance to play Feb. 15 in the Northeast Regional at Jacksonville State University.
