The Pisgah and North Jackson cross country teams posted top-10 finishes during the Southern Showcase.
The races were held at John Hunt Park in Huntsville on Saturday.
Pisgah finished second in the Small School Varsity Girls 5K race with 52 points. St. John Paul II won with a winning low score of 27. Westminster Christian was third (66), Asbury (101) fourth and North Jackson fifth (118).
Rhylee Bell was Pisgah’s top finisher, placing sixth with a time of 23:52.14. Kaylynn Morgan was eighth (23:59.96) while Serenity Olinger was 15th (25:33.53), Lauren Allbritton 24th (27:26.42), Jazimine Wilson 27th (27:38.63) and Addison Goff 45th (34:35.18).
Delana Pierce finished 19th (26:56.16) and Emily Gilley placed 21st (27:07.05) for North Jackson, while Saiyni Ramirez was 46th (35:00.19), Melissa Cardinas 50th (40:23.93), Kaylee Potts 51st (40:30.41) and Heidi Hicks 54th (49:45.54).
Pisgah finished fifth in the Small School Varsity Boys 5K race with 119 points. DAR won the team title with 68 points, one point better than runner-up Westminster Christian.
Tanner Baine finished 10th (18:45.78) and Tristan Little was 11th (18:54.27) for the Eagles while Zach Cornelison was 17th (19:36.77), Trey Barrentine 33rd (20:30.5), Austin Wilson 52nd (21:43.50), Bob Johnson 53rd (21:43.68), Jake Smith 54th (21:44.41), Bryant Overdear 64th (22:35.82), Holden Goff 91st (24:48.71), Austin Mabry 98th (27:15.75), Bailey Johnson 103rd (28:11.11) and Alex Elizondo 110th (33:33.39).
Meanwhile, North Jackson finished 10th (267).
Daniel Feigel was the Chiefs’ top finisher, placing 37th with a time of 20:44.48. Wences Ramirez finished 50th (21:25.43) while Alex Roper was 60th (22:19.27), Edgar Sanchez 67th (22:49.56), Andrew Feigel 84th (24:21.55), Jay Yates 87th (24:31.63) and Will Rich 101st (27:49.85).
