Scottsboro senior wrestler Kolton Clark’s tournament championship-winning streak remains intact after a strong showing over the weekend.
The two-time state champion breezed through the McCallie Invitational in Chattanooga, going 4-0 on his way to winning the 182-pound weight class championship.
Clark has won the 182-pound crown at all three of the tournaments Scottsboro has wrestled in this season.
The McCallie Invitational annual features some of the best teams and wrestlers in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia, and Clark (19-0) maneuvered his way to the title with a 4-0 record with all of those wins coming via pin. Clark’s longest match lasted just 3:11, and he pinned McCallie’s Thomas Sell at the 1:08 mark of the championship match.
Clark, Clinton Stewart and Damian Ramirez medaled in the tournament, leading Scottsboro to a ninth-place team finish.
Ramirez (18-2) finished 5-1 during the tournament on his way to a third-place finish in the 170-pound weight class while Stewart (14-7) went 3-2 on his way to finishing fifth at 113.
Meanwhile, Caleb Anderson (12-6) went 2-2 at 220 while Mason McKenzie (15-8) at 106 and Levi Hall at 285 (14-4) went 1-2 and Aaron Clark (8-9) at 138 and Tanner Shelton (4-8) at 152 both went 0-2.
