The Scottsboro cross country teams looked postseason ready in their final regular-season race.

The Scottsboro varsity boys finished first in the Class 5A-7A boys 5K race while Scottsboro placed third in the 5A-7A girls race during the Scottsboro Last Chance Invitational Thursday evening at the John R. Esslinger Trail of Champions.

Scottsboro took the top spot in the 5A-7A boys race with 38 points, which Oak Mountain finishing second (66) while Hewitt-Trussville was third and Cullman fourth (99).

Scottsboro had three of the top four finishers in the race, led by Hayden Judge’s first-place finish (15:43.67). It was the sophomore’s second race victory of the season. 

Cooper Atkins finished second (15:48.86) while Benson Atkins was fourth (16:00.89), Rex Green 15th (16:38.05), Ben Gossett 16th (16:39.40), Josue Vela Castillo 17th (16:48.93), Bobby Parsons 19th (16:51.90), Zach Avenel 23rd (16:55.27), Will Coleman 31st (17:08.84), Hal Leighton 32nd (17:10.53), Tim Van der Linden 35th (17:16.71), Evan Hill 45th (17:27.95), Brady Thomas 49th (17:44.76), Jackson Howes 60th (17:55.05), Ridge Wells 65th (18:02.41), Noah Bonsall 80th (18:18.11), Wilson Hill 96th (18:35.14), Josh Hill 101st (18:46.25), Hamilton Richardson 114th (18:58.91), Cameron Estes 124th (19:08.28), Logan Roberts 127th (19:09.99), Tyler Allen 143rd (19:27.06), Jo Carlile 190th (20:11.93), Levi Webb 215th (20:56.34), Skylar Reichle 227th (21:26.96), Nathan Bearden 245th (22:09.50), Christian Kilgore 246th (22:09.51) and Colin Tuno 268th (25:20.99). 

Meanwhile, Fort Payne (45 points) edged Hewitt-Trussville (47) by two points to win the 5A-7A girls race. Scottsboro (82) was third while Oak Mountain (120) and Spain Park (135) were fourth and fifth and Arab (137) was sixth.

McCall Chandler was Scottsboro’s top finisher, placing fifth with a time of 19:37.12. Maddie Gossett finished 13th (20:10.50) while Emma Bradford was 15th (20:14.82), Ally Campbell 22nd (20:39.16), Sadie Latham 27th (20:47.79), Smith Bradford 38th (21:11.11), Lauren Judge 47th (21:40.00), Amber Littles 51st (21:45.75), Emma Warren 55th (21:51.55), Makenna Howes 57th (21:56.29), Kaylee Farr 62nd (22:02.25), Skylar Farr 70th (22:24.99), Emily Littles 71st (22:26.47), Wylie Webb 74th (22:36.97), Ava Duke 76th (22:43.06), Shelton Linville 97th (23:35.96), Annabelle Parrish 101st (23:49.65), Daniela Ola 102nd (23:49.82), Collins Bradford (24:22.10), Sera Laney 123rd (25:21.35) and Madison Kubon 142nd (27:24.17).

Next up for Scottsboro is the Class 5A Section 4 Meet at SHS on Nov. 1.
