The Woodville varsity boys cross country team posted a 15th-place finish in the Clements Invitational.

The race was Tuesday at the Blue Cave Spring Elementary School track facility in Clements.

Class 5A Lawrence County won the boys team title with a low score of 53, narrowly edging Bob Jones by two points. Woodville closed with a score of 389.

Hunter Sisk was the Panthers’ top finisher, placing 43rd  with a time of 20:26.97. Jacob Lack followed in 64th-place (20:56.63) for Woodville while Jacob Chambers was 103rd (22:24.80), Isreal Prado 143rd (25:25.38), Logan Boggs 167th (27:53.53) and Russell Roswal 170th (28:23.74).

Woodville also finished 15th in its season-opening race, the Etowah County Trail Invitational at Nocculula Falls on Saturday.

Lack led Woodville with a time of 23:41.99 while Sisk ran 25:49.73, Chambers ran 27:34.69, Prado ran 30:32.10, Kade Hermes ran 33:07.82 and Roswal ran 33:18.47.
