The Flat Rock boys basketball team got a win over the defending Jackson County Middle School Tournament champion.

The Vikings built an early lead and maintained it throughout en route to a 38-28 win at Hollywood on Monday.

Flat Rock (3-1) led 14-8, 24-18 and 34-23 at the quarter breaks.

Tyler Grider scored a team-high 17 points for the Vikings, who also got 10 from Sam Schrimsher and seven from McClain Timmons. Holden Clark scored 10 points and Keelan Alverez had nine for Hollywood (2-1).  

Macedonia 46, Section 43 — At Macedonia, the Warriors rallied in the fourth quarter to claim the win on Tuesday.

Section led 20-9, 27-20 and 31-26 at the quarter breaks before Macedonia outscored the Lions 20-15 in the final stanza to win.

Josh Varner scored a game-high 32 points for the Warriors while Thomas Moore netted eight. Sam Swinford scored 20 points and Riley Bradford added eight for Section.

Rosalie 33, Bryant 20 — At Rosalie, the Tigers pulled away in the second half to pick up the win on Tuesday.

The game was tied 4-all after one quarter, but Rosalie led 13-8 at halftime before extending its lead to 25-14 after three quarters.

Koda Moore led Rosalie with 15 points while Sawyer Wilborn and Legion McCrary netted six each. Brody Kirkpatrick scored eight points for Bryant while Mikey Pass had six and Dallas Cummins four.  

Scottsboro (seventh-grade) 48, Albertville 44 (OT) — At Scottsboro, the Wildcats clipped Albertville in overtime Monday night.

Scottsboro trailed 7-3 after one quarter, 14-13 at halftime and 28-27 after three quarters before ending the game to overtime tied 38-all.

Jake Jones scored 16 points for the Wildcats while Jarret Scott and Luke Latham netted nine each and Tyler Shelton added eight.

Scottsboro (eighth-grade) 39, Albertville 32 — At Scottsboro, the Wildcats held off the Aggies for the win on Monday.

Scottsboro led 15-12 at halftime and 26-22 after three quarters.

Davon Walker led the Wildcats with 10 points while Ethan Roberts and Druw Smith scored seven each.

Skyline 50, Flat Rock 41 — At Skyline, the home team completed a regular-season sweep of Flat Rock on Tuesday.

The game was tied 8-all after one quarter, but Skyline pulled in front 24-13 at halftime and 36-24 after three quarters.

Jayton Prince scored 30 points and Bryant Kennamer added 10 for Skyline. Tyler Grider netted 22 points and Carson Ellison pitched in 10 for Flat Rock. 

Scottsboro (eighth-grade) 58, Arab 26 — At Arab, Scottsboro took charge in the opening quarter en route to the victory.

The Wildcats led 19-9, 36-16 and 51-21 at the quarter breaks.

Kyle Wright and Druw Smith dropped in 11 points each for the Wildcats while Davon Walker and Eli Sparks had nine apiece.

Macedonia 43, Dutton 13 — At Dutton, Macedonia raced in front 20-2 after one quarter en route to the victory.

Josh Varner scored 15 points and Jesse Cornelius added 13 for the Warriors. Jace Wooden scored four for Dutton. 

Scottsboro (seventh-grade) 33, Arab 19 — At Arab, the Wildcats outscored Arab 11-0 in the first quarter on the way to improving to 3-1 on the season.

The Wildcats led 19-3 at halftime and 28-7 after three quarters.

Jake Jones scored 10 points for Scottsboro while Jarret Scott had seven, Tyler Shelton eight and Trip Nelson six.

Girls

Hollywood 75, Richard Hardy (Tenn.) 10 — At Hollywood, the Hawks outscored Richard Hardy 25-0 after one quarter en route to the victory on Monday.

The Hawks had four players score in double figures, with MyCaiden Wilborn had 25 points, Kat Patton 16, Casia Coffey 14 and Alex Wright 12. Kayla Robinson scored 10 points for Richard Hardy.

Scottsboro 20, Albertville 19 — At Scottsboro, the Wildcats slipped past Albertville for the win Monday night.

Scottsboro led 6-4 after one quarter, and after the game was tied 8-all at halftime, led 14-13 after three quarters.

Meredith Pendergrass and Morgan Perkins scored three points each for Scottsboro while Karlie Hancock, Anna Claire Crocker, Austin McNeese and Maddie West had two each.

Macedonia 28, Dutton 18 — At Dutton, Macedonia outscored the home team 16-7 in the second half to earn the win on Monday.

Macedonia trailed 3-2 after one quarter before leading 12-9 at halftime and 19-11 after three quarters.

Shelby Putnam led Macedonia with 16 points while Emma Sisk scored seven for Dutton.

Macedonia 23, Section 12 — At Macedonia, the Warriors rallied from a halftime deficit to get the victory on Tuesday.

Macedonia trailed 7-6 at halftime before moving in front 13-9 after three quarters.

Lynn-Zee Young scored nine points and Shelby Putnam added seven for the Warriors. Emily White scored five points and Molly Myers had three for Section.

Rosalie 43, Bryant 4 — At Rosalie, the Tigers took control early en route to the victory on Tuesday.

Hannah Bates scored 15 points and Destiny Gann added 13 for Rosalie, which also got nine from Jaylin Williams.

Arab 31, Scottsboro 25 — At Arab, the host team held off Scottsboro for the win Tuesday.

Scottsboro led 10-7 after one quarter before Arab moved in front 20-15 at halftime and 25-22 after three quarters.

Bree Sexton led Scottsboro with 11 points while Meredith Pendergrass had seven, Austin McNeece three and Karlie Hancock and Maddie West two each.
