The Woodville baseball team closed the season with a pair of wins.
The Panthers defeated Brindlee Mountain 4-3 on Tuesday before edging Richard Hardy (Tennessee) 6-5 on Wednesday.
Woodville rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat Brindlee Mountain, scoring two runs in the fifth before plating the winning run in the top of the seventh when Zach Thompson singled and scored on Brett Berger’s RBI double.
Berger, who also drove in the tying run in the fifth, finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs while Jacob Chambers went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Blake Lands also finished 3-for-4 while Logan Boggs and Camron Talley had two hits each and Josh Drawbaugh, Zach Thompson and Nathan Gardner had one hit each.
Talley and Chambers combined to pitch a two-hitter for the Panthers.
Talley recorded nine strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings while Chambers, who got the win, had three strikeouts over 2 1/3 innings.
At Richard Hardy in South Pittsburg, Tennessee on Wednesday, Woodville (3-12) overcame a 2-1 deficit by scoring five runs in the top of the sixth. The inning included a two-run single from Drawbaugh and RBI singles from Berger, Christian Chambers and Jacob Chambers.
Lands finished with two hits for the Panthers, who got one each from Drawbaugh, Boggs, Talley, Berger, Christian Chambers and Jacob Chambers.
Lands got the win on the mound, recording 10 strikeouts over six innings. Drawbaugh struck out two in one inning pitched while earning the save.
